Full time teaching assistant role - ASAP start - Shepherd's Bush*

Start Date: ASAP
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 (Reception, Pre‑Verbal ASD) and classroom support in reception class
Contract: Full‑time, long term until July 2026 initially
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: Up to £120 per day
We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Shepherd’s Bush (W12) who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Reception‑aged child with pre‑verbal ASD.
The pupil is currently on a reduced timetable, currently only in school in the morning for an hour or two, so after she leaves for the day you will support the Reception Class as a general teaching assistant.
PAID TRIAL DAY ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support for a Reception‑aged child with pre‑verbal ASD
* Support communication through visuals, modelling, and sensory‑appropriate approaches
* Assist with emotional regulation and sensory needs
* Help the child access early learning activities and routines
* Once the pupil leaves (reduced timetable), support other pupils with needs and assist in the wider class
* Work with the class teacher and SEN staff to implement personalised strategies
* Create a warm, predictable, and nurturing environment
About You:
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD, especially pre‑verbal or high‑needs profiles
* Confident working in Reception or EYFS settings
* Patient, calm, and consistent in approach
* Able to use (or willing to learn) alternative communication strategies
* Proactive, reliable, and committed to long‑term SEN support
* Available full‑time to start ASAP
