AD Energy Recruitment is supporting an industry leader in automotive/engine test technologies with their recruitment for an Engineer, located at the Cummins Darlington engine plant. This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading engine testing facilities, including maintenance, servicing, calibration, and commissioning of test facility equipment onsite.
The ideal candidate will have an electrical or electronics bias with electrical fault-finding experience, complemented by mechanical skills. Training will be provided, along with ongoing support.

Role: Service/Maintenance Engineer
Overview:
1. Maintain, repair, calibrate, and service engine testing equipment or competitor equipment.
2. Commission products, test facilities, or contractually defined equipment and/or services.
3. Ensure that operation and handover to the client meet the specified requirements.
Functions of the role:
1. Carry out first-line fault analysis and repair of equipment in line with contractual obligations.
2. Assist in the in-house testing of engine testing equipment prior to site installation and commissioning.
3. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to optimize methodologies, safety, and costs for test plant and services.
4. Work with project managers and installation staff to ensure efficient commissioning that meets operational specifications within project timelines and budgets.
5. Take ownership of site activities post-installation and bring test plants into operation.
6. Document and record all parameters and activities; produce handover documentation for supplied equipment and facilities.
7. Ensure safe commissioning of plant and services, actively participating in risk analysis and promoting safe working practices.
8. Maintain detailed daily records of all work on commissioning, servicing, and maintenance contracts; produce technical reports upon request.
9. Keep accurate records of resources and costs during commissioning; assist in obtaining customer acceptance.
10. Support personal skill development in various technologies involved in test facilities.
11. Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers; act professionally as the company's representative on customer sites.
12. Provide technical hotline support to the service department for site-related issues if requested.
13. Adhere strictly to processes and procedures, aiming for continuous improvement in customer service.
14. Promote safe working practices at customer sites.
15. Be flexible in role responsibilities and assist with related tasks within individual skills.
16. Work to deadlines and complete internal paperwork within specified timeframes.
General requirements:
* Minimum HND level education in electronics or equivalent experience.
* Operational experience with modern industrial plant.
* Background in automotive or electrical engineering is essential.
* Excellent diagnostic skills; ability to work independently under pressure.
* Good interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and customers.
* Full driving license.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and generally IT literate.
* Team player willing to accept responsibility.
