A vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust for a Clinical Lead within the Rheumatology Physiotherapy Team.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Lead and develop Physiotherapy services within the Rheumatology speciality in partnership with the Physiotherapy Team Manager and other Advanced Physiotherapists.
* Act as an autonomous practitioner managing a clinical caseload, providing highly specialised assessment, treatment and advice to patients.
* Provide highly specialist advice to the speciality team and staff from other specialist areas or professions.
* Supervise, advise and guide Specialist Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, assistants and students on a daily basis.
* Be responsible for the clinical practice of physiotherapy assistants and Undergraduate Physiotherapy students under your supervision.
* Lead planning and delivery of training and education for the physiotherapy team, supporting professional and personal development of staff.
* Conduct comprehensive, highly specialised physiotherapy assessment of complex physical problems using advanced clinical reasoning to deliver an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
* Implement and review clinical standards relevant to team work, ensuring a high level of patient care.
* Monitor appropriateness of referrals to the Rheumatology Physio Team and accept transferred patients requiring higher expertise.
* Supervise and support Specialist Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants and clerical staff in partnership with the team manager and clinical lead physiotherapists.
* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, providing specialist advice on patient care.
Location: Work will take place across Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital and selected community sites within Morecambe Bay.
