About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant in Nottinghamshire, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with a range of special educational needs. Your role will involve delivering tailored interventions, assisting with classroom activities, and helping students develop both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
* Collaborate with teaching staff to design and implement personalised learning plans.
* Deliver one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND.
* Promote positive behaviour and social interaction through modelling and encouragement.
* Assist in preparing and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
* Work alongside external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements for SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
* Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A nurturing and patient approach to supporting learning.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
