About the role:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Hampton Water Treatment Works (WTW). As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods to assist in keeping the site operational.

What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical Technician
* Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid process interruptions. This may involve diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents.
* Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees if required.
* Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, screw/chain conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, valves, flow, level, and pressure measurement devices, programmable systems, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
* Complete statutory checks as required.
* Work safely and comply with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
Location and Working Pattern
Base Location: Hampton Water Treatment Works - TW12 2ES
Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000 - £10,000.
All PPE and tools are provided.

Candidate Requirements
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
* Problem solver with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate when necessary.
* Excellent communicator, capable of providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
* Resilient and adaptable to changing environments.
* Ability to work independently and adhere to standards.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
* Team player who respects others, provides helpful feedback, and supports development.
* IT literate and hold a full UK driving license.

* Ownership of fault response, curiosity to understand problems, and ability to resolve issues effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive in suggesting improvements and communicating effectively.
* Willingness to undergo safety training.
* Awareness of health and safety standards.
