Are you looking for a career change or have experience as a Port Operative? This hands-on role as a Port Terminal Lead Operative might be perfect for you!
Our client considers a range of applicants, ideally with an understanding of COMAH regulations, though this is not essential. Whether you're a tanker driver seeking a static role or a warehouse/production leader looking for a new challenge, ALL will be considered, and full training will be provided!
Responsibilities include:
* Managing and planning preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., meter proving, hose testing, equipment inspections)
* Overseeing stock control and coordinating deliveries and bunkering activities
* Ensuring all operations comply with site rules and regulatory guidelines
* Leading and developing terminal staff, including managing training needs and on-call schedules
* Monitoring working hours and ensuring compliance with working time regulations
* Acting as the liaison with port control and external stakeholders
* Leading incident investigations and maintaining site safety systems and documentation
* Enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
Candidate requirements:
* Ability to lead a small team
* Understanding of COMAH regulations (not essential but highly advantageous)
* Comfort working outdoors
* Flexibility to cover other shifts, sometimes at short notice
* Confidence in handling risk assessments, emergency procedures, and high-hazard work
