About the role
In your role as Operational Risk Framework Lead you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to lead the review and enhancements of the USS risk and control framework (e.g. control standards, control attestation standards, 2nd line control testing standards).
The successful individual will draft initial standards based on industry best practices and will coordinate review & feedback workshops with the EORM team and key stakeholders (e.g. Business control, compliance, Information Security).
This role is a 12-Month FTC.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the Group Risk you will be responsible for:
1. Review and enhance the current control framework standards based on industry best practices
2. Develop a new 2nd line control assurance methodology in collaboration with the EORM, Information Security and Compliance teams
3. Develop a firm wide control attestation process in collaboration with the 1st line business control teams
4. Review and streamline the current risk framework documentation (i.e., policies, frameworks & procedures)
5. Develop training materials for control standards and provide training to the business to enable the embedding of the new control framework
6. Support the risk managers with the review of the business control libraries
7. Present new standards and policies to the risk committee for approval

To be successful in the role you will have:
8. Strong experience and knowledge of risk management framework best practice, methodologies and emerging practice
9. Experience working in a Risk function, business control function or audit function
10. Excellent communication and strong stakeholder management skills are required
11. Strong Microsoft Office skills
