Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic Training Fellow to join our Dermatology Team. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in dermatology. The successful candidate will join an established team of Consultants.
About us
St John's provides a comprehensive general dermatology service, as well as a wide range of multi-disciplinary specialist services (see our web page). Its primary role is the delivery of excellence in clinical service, education and training, research and development in Dermatology. These functions are undertaken in both clinical and academic settings. On the academic side the Institute offers two postgraduate degrees in Dermatology and makes an important contribution to the Biomedical School as part of the Division of Genetics and Molecular Medicine, GKT School of Medicine, King's College London. GSTT and KCL provide one of only five Biomedical Research Centres in the UK.
Job responsibilities
The post-holder will work with colleagues to support and develop Dermatology services for the local population.
Qualifications & Training
* Eligible for registration with the GMC
* MB BS (or equivalent)
* MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Clinical Experience/Knowledge and Skills
* Proven track record of General Medicine experience
* Understanding of clinical risk management
* Competent to work without direct supervision where appropriate
* Clear, logical thinking showing an analytical/scientific approach
* Enthusiasm for clinical medicine
* Research experience
Teaching
* Experience of undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training
* Teaching qualification
Research
* Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research
* Research experience
* Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
* Good organisation and communication skills
* Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications
* Evidence of a depth of understanding of audit
Other
* Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council
* Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management
