Paint Sprayer / Vehicle Paint Technician - Rolling StockRolling Stock Maintenance / Vehicle Finishing TeamClient: Alstom UK - DerbyLarge-scale rail manufacturing and refurbishment environmentVoyager Refurbishment project and the follow-on CL222 Refurbishment project until September 2028Role PurposeThis role involves delivering high-quality paint finishing on large rail vehicles, including full surface preparation, priming, spraying, and final finishing. You will be working in a safety-critical, physically demanding production environment where precision and finish quality are essential.Candidates from a range of engineering and vehicle finishing backgrounds will be considered.Location & Working PatternLocation: DerbyShifts: DaysMinimum 45 hours per weekImmediate starts availableKey ResponsibilitiesCarry out full surface preparation on rolling stock (sanding, keying, masking, filling)Apply primer and topcoat systems, including 2K paint systemsSpray large vehicle surfaces to a high-quality standardComplete finishing work including polishing, defect removal, and snaggingCarry out touch-ups and rectification work on completed vehiclesApply detailed livery designs accurately to specificationWork from technical drawings, written instructions, and job sheetsMaintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and qualityWork effectively as part of a fast-paced production teamShifts, Salary & BenefitsNote: The shift is a single continuous day shift with blended pay rates applied across early and late hours within the shift.* Days, Monday - Thursday (45 hr week total)* 06.00 - 16.30* Friday 06.00 - 11.00o 06:00-14:00: £19.57 PAYE / £26.15 Umbrellao 14:00-16:30: £20.98 PAYE / £28.06 UmbrellaRequired Skills & ExperienceEssentialPrevious experience in paint finishing or spray paintingAbility to prepare, prime, and finish large surface areasExperience working from technical instructions and specificationsStrong attention to detail and quality controlAbility to work in a physically demanding environmentDesirableExperience in rail, automotive, marine, aviation, HGV, or plant industriesWater-based paint system experienceKnowledge of 2K systems and Hydro topcoatsAbility to mix and match paint colours accuratelyExperience with pressure pot spray systemsExperience working with aluminium components (awareness of sensitivity considerations)Key CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and pride in workmanshipAbility to follow structured processes consistentlyTeam-oriented approach in a high-volume production environmentConsistency across large surface applicationsReliable and committed to shift-based workSafety-focused at all timesWillingness to learn and develop new techniquesHealth, Safety & ComplianceDrug & Alcohol test required prior to startFull compliance with PPE and site safety rulesSafe handling of coatings, chemicals, and equipmentAdherence to COSHH and environmental proceduresWorking within a safety-critical manufacturing environment# INDENG-BRRullion celebrates and supports diversity and is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants.TPBN1_UKTJ
