Bouygues UK has a fantastic opportunity available for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on an exciting project in Exeter. The project is a large scale (~£185M) and long term (3 year duration) student accommodation scheme, comprising of 6 new-build blocks and a refurbishment of an existing block. This is great opportunity for an AQS who is keen to work as part of a larger team and receive support from our more senior commercial staff. Job Purpose And Scope To support the Project & Project QS to manage all commercial aspects of their role. In particular in terms of: Maximising the commercial results of the project in terms of delivering optimum profit performance against internal budgets & to maximise cash. The Procurement and Financial Control of Sub-Contractors. Financial Control of Sub-Contractors. Preparing timely & accurate monthly financial reports to forecast net margin & activity utilising the company tools, procedures & rules. Accountabilities And Key Tasks Financial forecasting reporting & control: Assist in the accurate compilation and preparation of aspects of the monthly Financial Reporting to predict the End of Site Margin including liaison with Financial Control. To carry out calculations of Materials Cost Accruals & Material Cost Forecasts. To carry out calculations of Forecast Preliminary Costs & Cost Accruals. Forecasts associated with Sub-contractor. Subcontract & consultant procurement and materials cost management Client account management About You Previous quantity surveying experience and an eagerness to develop in this area. Strong commercial awareness. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work. Communicates information and ideas proactively and confidentially in a way which is received positively, both verbally and in writing. Shares knowledge with others.
