Join to apply for the Motor Vehicle Support Technician role at The AA.
Location: Oldbury offices. Hours: 36.25 hours per week. Shifts between 07:00 – 20:00, Monday to Sunday. Salary: £35,000 p.a. plus benefits.
This is a role within The AA where you’ll provide expert advice to customers via telephone, acting as the go-to expert for traffic-stop repairs and supporting the business by routing patrols to where they are needed. You’ll work as part of a growing team to deliver high-quality customer service and technical support.
What you’ll be doing
* Provide essential technical support, advice, and repair fixes to customers, ensuring visits occur only in genuine breakdown scenarios.
* Communicate effectively to resolve breakdowns and deliver excellent customer service.
* Record data accurately on relevant databases; demonstrate computer literacy and confidence using various systems.
* Explain technical information in a clear, understandable way to customers and patrols.
* Work toward targets and achieve results as part of a motivated, performance-driven environment.
What you’ll need
* Mechanical qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle maintenance and Repair or equivalent, plus substantial demonstrable experience in the motor vehicle repair industry.
* Problem solver with technical expertise to diagnose and resolve issues, helping customers get back on the road.
* Strong communication skills; ability to simplify complex information for customers and patrols.
* Flexibility to work outside normal hours on a roster basis that includes weekends.
