F&F products are found in various everyday consumables, such as cosmetics and personal care products, detergents and cleaning agents, beverages, baked goods, candles, oils and animal feed. Our F&F products are easy to process and boast excellent odor and flavour profiles. The F&F portfolio also inculdes speciality chemicals for industrial applications. Industries like pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and construction materials require these for their products. Job Highlights Join Our Team as a Process Safety Engineer! Are you passionate about creating a safer workplace and making an impact in chemical manufacturing? At Lanxess, we are looking for a dedicated and skilled Process Safety Engineer to take the lead in shaping our Process Safety Management (PSM) program. This role will allow you to work on our Widnes site, ensuring compliance, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Reporting to: the Engineering Manager ________________________________________ What You’ll Do As our Process Safety Engineer, you’ll be a cornerstone of our safety initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include: Ensuring compliance with UK regulations, corporate standards, and COMAH requirements. Leading and monitoring HAZOPs, HACs, and other risk assessment studies, ensuring timely implementation of actions. Supporting and overseeing the Management of Change (MoC) process and applying Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies. Providing expert process safety input on capital projects. Investigating process safety incidents with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and supporting resolution strategies. Taking an active role in internal audits (e.g., ISO9001/14001) and COMAH intervention visits, supporting audit preparation and follow-up actions. Preparing and analysing Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPIs), reporting insights to the Management Team. Requirements ________________________________________ What You’ll Bring We’re looking for an experienced Process Safety Engineer with an educational background in chemical engineering. You will be someone with expertise and drive who has: 5 years’ experience in engineering within a chemical, pharmaceutical, or COMAH-regulated manufacturing environment. Proven experience as a Process Safety Engineer, ideally in a COMAH facility. Proficiency in HAZOP, RCA, LOPA, SIL, PHA, and MOC methodologies. Strong knowledge of process and equipment design principles. A thorough understanding of UK HS&E regulations (e.g., DSEAR, ATEX) and relevant standards (e.g., IEC61511). Self-starter with exceptional communication, presentation, and report-writing skills. Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SAP is desirable. ________________________________________ Why Lanxess?
