New Role - Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Initially Leigh site, moving to the new Warrington site within a few weeks
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern:
* Training period: 07:00 – 16:00 (day shift)
* Ongoing: 14:00 – 22:15 (evening shift)
* Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and reliability of automated glass processing and production equipment.
You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, helping to minimise downtime and improve equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain, fault-find, and repair automated glass processing and production machinery
* Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repairs
* Respond to breakdowns in a timely and effective manner (reactive and preventative maintenance)
* Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards
* Work closely with Production and Quality teams to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
* Use CMMS and other maintenance software to record work and manage tasks
* Work independently as well as part of a small, collaborative engineering team
Candidate Requirements
* Completed recognised apprenticeship (ONC/HNC or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
* Proven post-apprenticeship experience in an industrial maintenance role
* Strong electrical bias with good mechanical engineering capability
* Experience working with automated manufacturing or production equipment
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Calm, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced environment
* Competent IT skills (including MS Office and CMMS systems)
* A flexible team player with a proactive approach
* Demonstrated long-term stability in previous roles
