Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant

Salary: £27,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits & profit share

An innovative, employee-owned environmental consultancy is looking to recruit an early-career Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant to support its expanding technical team.
The company delivers specialist services across occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring, including air quality and dust monitoring, technical consultancy, equipment design and development, and laboratory testing and analysis.

The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role offering structured training, mentoring, and clear development pathways. Responsibilities will include:
Undertaking occupational exposure assessments for dusts, fibres, VOCs, gases, and other workplace contaminants
Analysing monitoring data and producing clear, technically robust reports
Supporting noise monitoring, LEV assessments, and related surveys (full training provided)
Responding to client enquiries, preparing quotations, and assisting with business development activities
The position is primarily office-based, with regular UK site work. Hybrid working is available following completion of initial training.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
At least 1 year's experience in occupational or industrial hygiene, including airborne contaminant and noise monitoring
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven technical report-writing ability
Confident user of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to manage, interpret, and present large datasets
Working knowledge of COSHH, EH40, and relevant MDHS guidance
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
BOHS membership
Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
Knowledge of indoor air quality standards and frameworks (e.g. BREEAM)
Experience with LEV testing and/or supporting commercial enquiries and quotations
Comfortable working in a client-facing role and independently when required
Willingness to travel and stay overnight occasionally
