The Position Job Title: Apprentice Telecoms Engineer Apprenticeship Course: Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship Duration: 13 months 3 months EPA Location: Southampton SO15 Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm Salary: £17,667 Role and Responsibilities: · I nstall, configure, and test telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, voice systems, fibre optics, wireless network and CCTV. · Set up customer premises equipment, ensuring all services are functioning as required. · Perform on-site surveys to assess installation requirements. · Diagnose and repair faults in telecoms equipment, including hardware failures and network issues. · Conduct routine maintenance and preventive checks on telecom systems to ensure optimal performance. · Respond to service outages, ensuring timely restoration of services. · Provide clear and professional communication with customers regarding installation and service issues. · Offer technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring they understand how to use the equipment and services. · Address customer concerns and escalate issues to higher-level support when necessary. · Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, and repair work completed. · Update post-installation reports on any work completed, issues resolved, ongoing concerns and anything outstanding.
