Overview
Provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service for the ADHD and ASD Service. Liaising with Parents/Carers for prescription and medical review requests. To work collaboratively with other admin team members. All patient records on RIO to be maintained and updated accurately. Help support the setup of appropriate clinics and distribution of work to the ADHD Nurses. Formatting and distributing ASD/ADHD diagnostic reports for parents and schools. It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role and that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative service for the ADHD and ASD Service; liaise with Parents/Carers for prescription and medical review requests; work collaboratively with other admin team members; maintain/update all patient records on RIO; support setup of clinics and distribute work to ADHD Nurses; format and distribute ASD/ADHD diagnostic reports for parents and schools; maintain confidentiality and exercise initiative.
* Provide day-to-day support to the Band 4 Administrator, ADHD Nurses, ASD Coordinators and Clinical Lead.
* Receive telephone calls from parents/carers and special schools requesting repeat prescriptions; ensure ADHD Nurse Specialist has up-to-date notes to write prescriptions and follow local procedures.
* Respond to emails via the generic ADHD or ASD inbox and take appropriate action.
* Make and receive telephone calls; relay messages accurately to the appropriate member of the team; use judgement to resolve problems.
* Deal appropriately with frustrated/angry parents/carers waiting to be seen; signpost to where they can seek further support and provide suitable nonclinical advice.
* Help investigate and resolve potential complaints with PALS.
