Salary: £34,398 £48,913 per year (M1 UPS1 Fringe)

Hours: 40 hours per week | MonWedThu 4:45pm, Tue 5:00pm, Fri 4:00pm
We are looking for a passionate Science Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students aged 11-16 with complex needs and SEND. Some pupils may have multiple learning difficulties and present challenging behaviours, requiring a calm, adaptable and reflective approach.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver and develop the curriculum tailored to students educational, social, and physical needs
Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Maintain short, medium, and long-term plans for lessons
Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise learning
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress to parents, colleagues, and relevant bodies
Develop lessons with clear structure, pace, motivation, and challenge
Contribute to the review of EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC reviews
Maintain awareness of current research and practices in autism and SEND education
Manage challenging behaviours in line with school policies
Be flexible and support the wider school team where required
Candidate Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Ability to teach Science up to GCSE level
Experience supporting students with complex needs and SEND
Sound knowledge of the national curriculum
Understanding of autism and associated conditions and their impact on learning
Experience developing and implementing SEND curriculum
