About the Role
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Freedom's Major Projects & Connections team is on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us in a flexible hybrid working environment, balancing home and site work in London.
In this pivotal role, you will report to the Project Commercial Manager and play a crucial part in managing the contractual and financial aspects of major projects, including large electrical and civil works. Your expertise will be key in ensuring successful P&L, cash flow, and working capital management.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
* Manage multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT, and bespoke agreements.
* Conduct measurements and valuations for applications, variations, and final accounts with clients and suppliers.
* Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
* Ensure all contracts are fit for purpose across the supply chain.
* Provide accurate Cash Flow Forecasts.
* Create and manage Cost Value Reports (CVR).
* Establish and chair monthly project reviews.
* Oversee the dispute and defects process with clients and subcontractors.
* Attend client progress meetings and manage invoicing and debts.
* Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
* Manage the supply chain and contribute innovative ideas for continuous improvement.
* Support the development of the wider commercial team across Freedom’s Network Services business.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role - Essential
* A strong understanding of various contract forms, particularly NEC3/4, and the ability to apply these skills practically - Essential
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or relevant HNC with suitable experience) - Essential
* Proficient MS Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables - Essential
* Experience with Civil Engineering and Construction projects - Desirable
