The Role
We are looking for a skilled Digital Print Operator to join our busy production team working both day and night shift via a continental shift pattern. You will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining cut-sheet and continuous digital print presses to produce high-quality work, ensuring all jobs are completed accurately, on time, and to customer specifications. This is a hands-on production role requiring strong technical knowledge of digital print processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Print Operation
* Set up, operate, and monitor digital presses such as Xerox, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, HP Indigo or equivalent.
* Manage print queues and job tickets to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
* Adjust print settings (colour management, resolution, paper stock) to achieve the best quality results.
* Carry out proofing and quality checks before and during print runs.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
* Perform daily and weekly machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
* Identify and resolve print quality issues (jams, misfeeds, colour calibration errors).
* Escalate technical faults to engineers or managers where necessary.
Workflow & Quality
* Ensure all work is produced to specification, on time, and within agreed quality standards.
* Follow job sheets and production processes precisely.
* Maintain accurate records of print runs, wastage, and machine usage.
Teamwork & Safety
* Work closely with colleagues in finishing, planning, and dispatch to ensure smooth workflow.
* Adhere to all health and safety procedures and keep the print area clean and organised.
* Support training and cross-skilling within the department.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a Digital Print Operator in a production environment (preferred).
* Strong working knowledge of digital presses (Xerox, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, HP Indigo, or similar).
* Good understanding of colour management, paper stocks, and print file setup.
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to quality.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple jobs at once.
* Team player with good communication skills.
