Your role...
Based in the London Tech Hub, Ingest Operators are responsible for the preparation, routing, ingesting, and monitoring of incoming feeds required for recording content across Eurosport, TNT, and FTA platforms. Duties include QC’ing, processing, sharing content, preparing metadata and audio configurations, managing bookings of live and non-live feeds, and working closely with production and other departments.
Your responsibilities:
* QC’ing entertainment and sports content sent from distribution or recorded internally using AMPP (Asset management) GV.
* Ensuring all ingested material is processed in a timely manner.
* Escalating to relevant departments when material fails QC or does not meet broadcast standards.
* Managing transfer of recorded assets to Cloud and Archive.
* Routing sources for recordings using BNCS panel.
* Following ‘Fast Track’ workflows to prepare assets for broadcast quickly.
* Preparing scheduled recordings into the SCS cloud system, including production feeds.
* Adding critical metadata for recorded feeds for archive and edit management.
* Monitoring live playlists, ensuring scheduled events run on time, and updating bookings as needed.
* Preparing live playback for transmission, cloud, or MCR distribution.
* Running searches in WON scheduling software to ensure requests are accurate and liaising with territories for discrepancies.
* Prioritising ingest requests from production, schedulers, and sports coordinators.
* Coordinating with preview and edit teams to confirm assets are ready.
* Coordinating with MCR to assign decoders for scheduled feeds.
* Interacting with Sports Coordinators to process requests to air.
* Submitting daily shift handovers, including errors or discrepancies.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of television terminology.
* Experience in a broadcast environment.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of video/audio equipment, waveform, and vector scopes.
* Ability to prioritize requests effectively.
* Proactive and able to work independently.
* Calm under pressure.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* High initiative, motivation, and time management.
* Ability to resolve issues promptly.
* Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Shift work including weekends and nights.
