We are currently looking for a Process and Production (Manufacturing) Manager for our client, an innovative UK-based manufacturing business specialising in sustainable battery production for electric vehicles. The successful candidate will work with technology partners, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition, high-yield production, and strategic procurement for Power Cell manufacturing.
The Process and Production Manager will:
* Lead supplier engagement and procurement, including RFIs, RFQs, and tendering.
* Establish and optimise KPIs, including yield, throughput, and defect rates.
* Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
* Oversee equipment selection and integration to meet industry and production standards.
* Provide technical expertise in design for manufacturability (DFM) to support new product introduction (NPI).
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and R&D, to align production planning with business goals.
The Process and Production Manager will have:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or related field (Master’s preferred).
* 7+ years (5+ with Master’s) experience in manufacturing, automotive, or related sectors.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing methodologies, process development, and high-volume production.
* Expertise in procurement strategies, cost analysis, and tendering processes.
* Hands-on experience with MES, SPC, and Six Sigma.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in equipment purchase, installation, commissioning, and vendor selection.
