We are looking for LEAP Engineers to drive forward the Defence sector within Electrical and Embedded Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the client project that you support.
The successful candidate will be able to perform a range of technical activities involved in the configuration, build, testing and release of secure laptops. Able to take delivered components (software & hardware) and wrap them into a holistic single deliverable to the end user. Able to think 'product' around re-use and sparing and design the solution to bring ease of re-use and ease of configured on-shelf spareable items to life.
Qualifications
Degree in an applicable Engineering Discipline
Essential skills
Competent in software language Java
Wide ranging knowledge of software languages, frameworks and toolsets
Knowledge/awareness of Software architectures
Large scale distributed system software design
Ability to develop, deploy, debug software to a target with MS Windows as the underlying operating system.
TCP/IP and IP network protocols
Microsoft System Center Configuration Management (SCCM )
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) scores, patching OS and how update to Group Policy affecting security stance (STIG, etc)
Awarness of setting up standard software development tools e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Git etc
Knowledge of high integrity coding best practices (unit testing, static analysis, MISRA,JSF++,HIC++,AUTOSAR), Code Craft
Used to working to and following defined process documents (such as a Software Development Plan SDP)
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Web Services experience
Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
Awareness of MS Windows platform
Awareness of automated testing
Awareness of certificate chain process and security policies
Awareness of reqts management in DOORs (or Polarion)
Experience of working in a CI/Cd environment

Experience of DevOps
Experience in Security hardening of Linux (e.g. SElinux, standards)
Experience of software configuration management (Bitbucket, Artifactory)
Experience of change and task management using JIRA, for aspects such as work backlogs, problem report management, action management
Experience of Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum, Kanban or scaled agile (SaFE).
Experience of software build from configuration management using Jenkins (or Git Runners)
Experience of virtualisation
Previous defence sector experience
