Pharmacy Assistant – Supply Services
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant to support the efficient running of the pharmacy department.
Job Summary
The Pharmacy Assistant will carry out a variety of tasks associated with the supply of medicines to wards, work with pharmacy information systems, answer telephone enquiries, and participate in GDP training.
Working hours: 8:30–17:00 four days a week and 10:30–19:00 one day a week.
Main Duties
* Support pharmacy team in dispensing and medication supply.
* Deal with public enquiries and provide accurate information.
* Maintain accurate record keeping and data entry using PCs.
* Assist with telephone enquiries and refer to relevant pharmacy staff.
* Work autonomously or in teams on wards during top‑up duties.
* Participate in ongoing training and achieve BTEC Level 2 in Pharmacy Support.
* Complete compulsory training as required by the Trust.
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above).
* Experience in a customer care environment.
* Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services; experience in a pharmacy environment.
* Strong accuracy, communication (verbal & written), and computer skills.

Pay scheme: Agenda for change.
Band: 2 – Salary: £24,465 pa pro rata.
Contract: Permanent.
Working pattern: Full‑time, Part‑time.
