Overview
We are recruiting a permanent Service Performance Analyst to join the Digital and Services Team in the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance Directorate. This is a new post that provides an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated and passionate about improving public services. The role will work closely with the Service Performance Lead, who has overall responsibility for setting direction and influencing senior leaders.
As a Service Performance Analyst, you will support the Lead by providing high-quality analysis, insight, tools and guidance to help services measure and improve performance. You will be central to building the evidence base and consistent standards that underpin our approach to service performance.
Responsibilities
* Contributing to the development and maintenance of frameworks, metrics and standards for service performance (including the Service Model).
* Supporting the Lead in providing guidance, tools and templates to help services measure performance consistently and effectively.
* Producing dashboards and narrative insight to help leaders understand service outcomes and areas for improvement.
* Assisting services to complete maturity assessments and track transformation progress.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is comfortable analysing data and insight, liaising with service leads and senior leaders across the EA and Defra, and translating complex findings into clear recommendations. The role best suits someone who is adaptable, curious, and motivated to make a difference in how the EA measures and improves the services it delivers.
If you lack substantial experience in service performance measurement but are strong in analysis, insight, business change or transformation, please do consider applying for this role.
Team and context
You will join a small team in the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance Directorate, building a consistent, evidence-based approach to understanding and improving services. The team is developing the Environment Agency’s Service Model, describing services, outcomes and capabilities. This role will provide data, insight and guidance to measure performance, track maturity and inform improvement. The team sets metrics, supports assessments, produces dashboards, aligns service roadmaps, shares tools and frameworks, and advises on transformation and investment.

* Clear communication skills, able to explain complex analysis simply and persuasively to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability, comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
