We're seeking a dynamic and hands-on IT Lead to support and enhance our operational technology infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Billing Manager and working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and evolving our metering and billing systems, resolving hardware and software issues, and delivering effective IT support across the organisation.

This is a varied role that combines technical problem-solving with fieldwork. You'll work on-site with hardware, collaborate with our Technical Team, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes. Objective/purpose

To lead and deliver robust, responsive, and forward-thinking IT support across the organisation, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing metering and billing systems. This role aims to ensure operational continuity, drive technical innovation, and support field-based and internal teams through hands-on problem-solving, system optimisation, and collaborative development of IT infrastructure and workflows.

Principal roles and responsibilities

* Provide responsive and effective IT support to internal teams.
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance our metering and billing system.
* Tracking and ensuring connectivity of meters, investigating and resolving issues with non-communicating meters in collaboration with technical staff and field engineers.
* Travel to sites to install, repair, and configure metering hardware.
* Assist in generating and sending bills via the billing platform.
* Contribute to the development and optimisation of internal IT workflows and processes.
* Working with software suppliers to create, test and implement new solutions.
* Carrying out other tasks and duties as required appropriate to the post.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Essential:

* Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Full training will be provided; however, a minimum of 2 years' IT experience is required.
* Customer service orientated, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
* Clean full Driving licence.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
* Familiarity with router configuration and troubleshooting.
* Proficiency in Power Automate (essential).
* Exposure to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric (preferred).
* Broad IT knowledge across hardware, software, and networking.
* Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
