Based inNormanton, we supply equipment all over the UK (and now into Northern Ireland!), from vehicle-mounted cherry pickers to clients inPower, Telecommunications, Local Authorities, Utilities, and other infrastructure sectors. We specialise in modern 3.5t–7t and 4×4 vehicles fromVersaliftandCPL, so you’ll be at the heart of some exciting operations every day!
What We’re Looking For:
We need someone with a sharp eye for detail, a can‑do attitude, and the ability to think on their feet. As aBreakdown Controller, you’ll be the go‑to problem solver, keeping our vehicles moving and our customers happy. You’ll need to work well independently, but also be a team player – liaising with garages, customers, and internal teams like Fleet, Hire Desk, and Operations.
What You’ll Do:
* Take breakdown calls and find solutions by coordinating with suppliers and engineering support.
* Keep customers updated via phone/email with progress reports on vehicle repairs.
* Minimise vehicle downtime and escalates issues when needed.
* Raise purchase orders, process recharges, and liaise with Accounts on billing queries.
* Work closely with Finance, Workshop, and Sales to keep things running smoothly.
* Keep accurate and detailed records inSyrinx.
* Always maintain professional, friendly, and courteous communication with customers and colleagues.
* Cover out-of-hours rota (additional pay applies).
* Any other ad‑hoc duties to keep the operation ticking along.
What You’ll Bring:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Super organised with strong planning skills and attention to detail.
* Confident with Microsoft Office.
* Customer service experience (essential).
* Vehicle knowledge is a bonus, but not essential.
* A problem‑solving mindset and ability to stay calm under pressure.
* Great interpersonal skills – you’ll be working with lots of different people!
