Environmental Health Officer – part‑time at East Staffordshire Borough Council
Salary – between £37,280 to £40,777 per annum (pro rata) plus a temporary market forces supplement of £2,555 per annum (pro rata)

Our Environmental Health Team covers a wide range of food businesses, including manufacturers such as Coors and Marstons, minced meat‑prep and cheese manufacturing, and we are the primary authority for Punch Taverns.
An exciting opportunity has opened for a part‑time Environmental Health Officer with experience and competence specifically in food hygiene. The Role
The postholder will be instrumental in delivering our reactive and proactive work programmes alongside a team of experienced officers. You will ensure statutory duties and service delivery targets are met and that professional services are delivered to customers.
Key Requirements
* Practical experience and a proven track record in Food Safety, Public Health or Health and Safety
* BSc/ MSc in Environmental Health or equivalent
* Completed Environmental Health Practitioner Portfolio and CIEH registered Environmental Health Practitioner
* Lead Officer competency in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice
* Ability to provide advice and assistance within the scope of environmental health and to interact effectively with the public, local communities, stakeholders, agencies, and public bodies, including difficult people and situations
Skills & Experience
* Work autonomously and as part of a team
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to analyse and interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
