Daily Rate: £80–£110 (depending on experience)

A welcoming specialist school in Hemel Hempstead is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. The school supports pupils with autism and complex needs, offering a caring atmosphere enriched by excellent multidisciplinary support and a strong focus on delivering EHCP outcomes.
About the Role
This is a full-time, term-time position ideal for someone empathetic, proactive, and committed to providing tailored support that enhances each pupil’s learning journey. Whether you have previous SEN experience or are keen to start your career, you will be supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team focused on positive communication, behaviour management, and pupil development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver personalised 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and additional needs
Support the implementation of learning and therapy activities aligned with EHCP targets
Help develop social, communication, and life skills through effective scaffolding
Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation with appropriate strategies
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent, holistic support
Assist with personal care where needed, respecting each pupil’s individual requirements
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring pupil progress in line with school and EHCP guidelines
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in SEN is desirable but not essential
A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to support inclusion
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn, engage in training, and adopt best practices
Dependable, flexible, and committed to fostering an inclusive school culture
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
