Our Client is recruiting for a Transport Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the entire transportation process, from planning and execution to ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. They manage vehicles, drivers, and routes, aiming to minimise costs, maximise efficiency, and provide reliable transportation services. This is a permanent position.
Shift times are Monday to Friday 8.00pm to 6.00am or 7.00am when needed. This is a night shift. You will need experience working in Transport.
\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDeveloping and implementing logistics plans, including routing and scheduling. Optimising delivery routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. \n\nManaging and coordinating the movement of goods or passengers.
\n\nEnsuring vehicles are properly maintained, roadworthy, and meet safety standards.\n\nOverseeing vehicle maintenance, including MOTs, repairs, and fuel management. \nEnsuring drivers have valid licenses, are properly trained, and adhere to working hours regulations. \n\nSupervising drivers, managing their work schedules, and providing training.
\n\nEnsuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to health and safety. \n\nMaintaining accurate records and reports. \n\nManaging operator licenses and compliance systems.
\n\nTracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of transportation operations. \n\nGenerating reports and presentations to senior management and clients. \n\nLeading and motivating the transport team.
\n\nProviding training and development opportunities for staff. \n\nEnsuring safe and secure transportation of goods or passengers. \n\nImplementing safety protocols and procedures.
