About Us

We are looking for a Research Data Technician/Analyst to be a key part of a collaborative research project titled "VAMP2 associated SNAREopathies: from mechanism to therapeutic approaches", which will be conducted jointly between the Department of Neuromuscular Diseases and the DCEE, bringing together expertise in genomics, molecular mechanisms, and translational research to investigate VAMP2-related SNAREopathies and explore potential therapeutic strategies.

The Department of Neuromuscular Diseases is a hub for clinical and research excellence across the spectrum of spinal cord and neuromuscular diseases. Our group of world-leading clinical, genetic and basic science researchers focus their work on understanding the causes and biological mechanisms leading to Neuromuscular Diseases and translating this knowledge into developing novel therapeutic solutions that is of direct benefit to neurological disorders.

The mission of the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy (DCEE) is to transform the lives of people living with epilepsy for the better by identifying, understanding and correcting or preventing the underlying mechanisms leading to the epilepsies and associated comorbidities in each individual person.

About The Role

You will support the Principal Investigators and a research team with managing and analysing genetic, biological, and clinical datasets generated through UCL research and collaborations. You will work with the team to classify and interpret genetic variants from multiple sequencing databases, extract and curate clinical data, and liaise with referring clinicians to ensure accurate genotype-phenotype correlation.

You will contribute to data analysis, genetic variant curation, and laboratory-based validation studies supporting this research. This is a great opportunity to develop expertise in genomics, data management, and clinical research databases while making your own contribution to scientific discovery and translational research.

The role is available immediately and funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) for one year in the first instance.

If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online, or have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin@ucl.ac.uk).
