About the Role:
Due to continued expansion, the Lanes Group is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join our well-established finance team based in Leeds.
Location: Leeds
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
* Managing a team of 8 to ensure positive team performance
* Producing monthly management accounts, including routine journal postings (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.)
* Posting daily cash transactions, bank reconciliations, and issuing weekly cash reports
* Monitoring rebate accounts to ensure timely and correct rebate payments
* Completing monthly bank reconciliations
* Reviewing financial performance against budgets and analyzing variances
* Collaborating with depot managers to gather KPI data and drive business improvements
* Nominal coding of invoices
* Preparing year-end financial statements and ensuring records are up to date
* Analyzing sales data and provisioning for potential liabilities or losses
* Maintaining records of fixed assets
* Working with external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Experience and Qualifications:
* Previous management experience
* Proficiency in data visualization, dashboards, and reporting; creativity in data presentation
* Advanced Excel skills
* Self-motivated with a proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work at pace
* Highly organized, analytical, results-focused, and able to multi-task
* Excellent communication skills
* Part-qualified or studying CIMA or equivalent
