Our Academy provides you with the opportunity to work alongside industry leading professionals, gaining in depth experience and excellent development, all whilst studying for your professional qualifications. It doesn’t have to be either/or, with our IM Academy you get both – a qualification and a career!
The combination of work experience and outstanding learning and development opportunities available within our Academy will equip you with a well-rounded skill set, that will enable you to build your career as an Investment Manager.

What to expect?
The 16–18-month programme will involve gaining hands-on experience and learning everything there is to know about Investment Management. This will include client skills group workshops, Investment workshops, study resources and much more. You'll also enrol in the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), which will start your journey to becoming a qualified Investment Manager. You will also gain additional skills through a variety of training programmes delivered by our apprenticeship provider and our fantastic Learning and Development team.
After completing the IM Academy, we will support you to achieve your CISI Level 7 Chartered Wealth Management qualification, with ongoing development to support your career.
What you will bring:
• We don't require prior experience, but we are searching for dedicated individuals who are serious about starting a career in Wealth Management. We are excited to offer our structured learning programme in Investment Management and are committed to supporting you through each aspect of your journey with us.
• Brewin Dolphin has a collaborative culture, and you will collaborate with multiple teams both inside and outside your office during the programme. As a result, we value teamworking abilities.
• We’re looking for people who pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy throughout their work.
• Whilst client interaction will be limited initially, we are looking for those who have the abilities to succeed as their careers advance. We value good communication and people skills and a desire to build long-term connections with clients.
• We need you to have good time management skills because this is a demanding and varied role where you will often be managing many priorities while also studying.
