Salary: £12.71 per hour

Glenholme Healthcare's brand new care home, Wendreth Court, is looking for an Assistant Chef to join our team.
Wendreth Court is a modern, purpose built service providing high quality care in a warm and welcoming environment. We are passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care and hospitality, and food plays a central role in creating a positive experience for our residents.
We are looking for an Assistant Chef who can deliver high quality, wholesome dishes cooked to the highest standards, while supporting the Head Chef in maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient kitchen.

Experience Required:
* Knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, Environmental Health Standards and Regulations
* Experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring a team
* A good understanding of nutrition
* Experience working with fresh, seasonal food
* The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within the home
* Confidence in engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
Responsibilities:
* Apply and share knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, and Health Standards with staff to ensure compliance with legislation and company policies
* Carry out audits and ensure all records are completed and up to date
* Hold regular meetings with residents and families to review and update menus according to preferences
* Support kitchen staff with training, induction, supervision, and performance reviews
* Ensure a balanced, home cooked diet is available to residents, meeting personal, cultural, and religious requirements
* Adhere to home budgets when purchasing stock and materials
* Maintain high hygiene standards at all times
* Maintain accurate records in line with Environmental Health, Food Standards Agency, CQC, and company requirements
* Keep up to date with mandatory training
