The Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to take full responsibility for all EHS activities across our manufacturing site.
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure legal compliance, drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO management systems, and promote a proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.
You’ll work closely with management and operational teams to minimise risk, improve standards, and ensure environmental compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System
* Maintain and develop ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
* Ensure compliance with COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX and environmental legislation
* Conduct and review site risk assessments and internal audits
* Develop and update EHS policies and procedures
* Deliver and coordinate H&S training, inductions and refresher programmes
* Investigate accidents/incidents and liaise with regulatory authorities when required
* Manage emergency preparedness and contractor safety processes
* Support and coach managers and employees to improve site safety performance
* Manage environmental monitoring, reporting and waste compliance
* Liaise with the Environment Agency and other governing bodies
* Maintain records relating to chemicals, PPE, fire safety and training
* Mentor and develop the EHS Officer
What We’re Looking For
* NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
* Experience within a manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
* Working knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX regulations
* Experience in contractor management, risk assessments and emergency planning
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
* Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline desirable
Working Hours
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Friday
