Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage advanced R&D projects, guiding them from early-stage concept to delivery.
* Design, develop, and characterise functional materials tailored for CO₂ capture and utilisation processes.
* Troubleshoot complex scientific challenges, contributing innovative solutions to technical roadblocks.
* Provide mentorship and leadership to junior scientists, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams, academic researchers, and industrial partners to advance joint projects.
* Review and refine technical reports, research proposals, and scientific data to ensure accuracy, rigour, and strategic impact.
* Deliver scientific presentations, publish research findings, and actively engage in peer-reviewed communications.
* Uphold compliance with internal controls, legal frameworks, and R&D best practice standards.
What You’ll Bring
* PhD in Chemistry (or closely related discipline).
* 5+ years’ post-PhD experience in relevant academic or industrial research settings.
* Deep hands-on expertise in CO₂ capture, utilisation, or emissions reduction technologies.
* Proven track record in designing, synthesising, and characterising novel functional materials.
* Strong leadership in scientific problem-solving and innovation-driven project delivery.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable
* Experience working in collaborative industry-academia R&D projects.
* Knowledge of industrial process scale-up, pilot plant operations, or applied decarbonisation technologies.
* Familiarity with grant writing or securing funding from national and international innovation programmes.
