Year 6 Primary Teacher | SATs & Transition Specialist
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (Primary Academy)
Salary: Paid to Scale (M1 - M6) | Highly Competitive Daily Rates
Contract: Full-Time, Long-term Temporary (Maternity Cover)
Duration: May 2026 - April 2027
Hours: Monday - Friday (32.5 Hours per week)
The Opportunity: Lead the Final Sprint to SATs Success
The Role & Timeline
This maternity cover is unique in its structure, requiring a teacher who can pivot between intensive intervention and holistic primary teaching.
1. Phase 1: The SATs Lead-Up (May 2026)
o Booster Sessions: Delivering high-impact, targeted booster sessions in English and Maths during your first three weeks.
o Gap-Plugging: Rapidly identifying and addressing remaining knowledge gaps to build pupil confidence.
o Examination Prep: Leading mock runs and providing emotional support to pupils during the SATs week.
2. Phase 2: Post-SATs & Curriculum Resumption (June 2026 - April 2027)
o Return to Breadth: Once the SATs window closes, you will resume a full, broad, and balanced curriculum.
o Transition Excellence: Preparing the Year 6 cohort for their move to Secondary school through project-based learning and emotional readiness.
o New Academic Year: In September, you will take over the new Year 6 cohort, setting the standards for the 2026/27 cycle.

* We are looking for a teacher who can "hit the ground running" during the year\'s busiest period.
* Recent Year 6 Experience: A proven track record of producing measurable results in SATs.
* Subject Mastery: Expert knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum.
* Resilience: The ability to maintain a calm, focused, and challenging learning environment during high-stakes weeks.
* Adaptability: Transitioning fluidly from "exam mode" back into a creative, normal lesson rhythm.
