Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs needed in Kent. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. Targeted Provision’s mission is to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND and other needs such as SEMH; we support children with MLD and SLD. We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors who are passionate about transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Kent. This role is suitable for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support is delivered to children referred by local authorities and schools, focusing on educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet individual needs and advance educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work
It is a strict requirement that you promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed fixed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position

Individuals with experience from teaching often come from roles such as SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, Ex-Teacher. Other relevant roles include Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, Inclusion Coordinator.
