Role Overview
We are currently recruiting support workers to work on a part‑time ad hoc basis; full‑time hours can be provided if required. The role involves permanent night shifts across flexible schedules from Monday to Sunday, with the option to choose one or more nights per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support to children aged 8‑18 with severe learning difficulties, challenging behaviour and non‑verbal communication within a residential home.
* Assist with daily activities, welfare and safety during night shifts from 10:15 pm to 7:45 am.
* Prepare shift rosters and maintain flexibility in working days, with the rota released 2 weeks in advance.
* Attend monthly team meetings and collaborate as an integrated member of the team ethos.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Preferably PROACT‑SCIPR trained or willing to undergo training before commencement.
* Hold or be working toward a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (children’s).
* Previous experience working with children and young people of this age group and with learning difficulties.
* Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service and provide a minimum of five years’ references.
* Will be subject to Ofsted compliance checks before commencement.
Working Hours & Training
Shift starts at 10:15 pm and finishes at 7:45 am. Induction and training are provided on‑site by the client over a five‑day period (9:30 am – 3:30 pm).
