About the job
We are seeking a Regional Technician to make a significant impact. Your responsibilities will include modifying equipment, scheduling preventative maintenance, rectifying defective equipment, overseeing contractors, and managing stock control. You will ensure our technology performs reliably to support our lifesaving teams, providing a rewarding and impactful experience.
About you
You will work with our inshore and all-weather Lifeboats, as well as Lifeguard equipment, Jet skis, Quads, Ford Rangers, and launching equipment. Candidates from agricultural, commercial, plant, military, or vehicular backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Essential requirements include:
* A Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
* Broad electrical knowledge
* Ability to operate independently and use initiative
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Optional but preferred: a marine or vehicle-based apprenticeship, certifications like IOSH, PASMA, PA testing
A full driving license is essential; a B+E license for towing and a forklift license are advantageous but can be provided through training.
Note: Some time may be spent at sea.
