About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee and manage the company's accounting operations. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and leading the monthly and annual close processes. Experience with QuickBooks is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will be analytical, collaborative, and capable of scaling our accounting processes as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
2. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
3. Prepare internal financial reports and analyses for leadership and external stakeholders
4. Maintain compliance with US GAAP and internal controls
5. Oversee tax filings, audit preparation, and other compliance-related functions
6. Optimize and maintain the QuickBooks accounting system, including workflows and integrations
7. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and external advisors (e.g., tax consultants or auditors)
8. Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
Qualifications:
9. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
11. Strong experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
12. Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
13. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
16. CPA license is a plus, but not required
Nice to Have:
17. Experience working in a fast-paced startup or small-to-mid-sized business

19. Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
