AAC Clyde Space is seeking a Test Engineer to join our production team, supporting the verification and delivery of high-quality spacecraft hardware.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting tests then reporting on results for electronic assemblies and spacecraft systems, ensuring hardware is delivered safely and meets required standards, budgets, and project timescales.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys supporting test campaigns, analysing results, and communicating progress and status to relevant stakeholders. You will collaborate with Design Engineers to test and debug both new and existing designs, verify that hardware meets customer requirements, and produce clear, concise test reports with recommended actions.
Given the nature of the role, it is based full-time on the site.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Support activities with spacecraft assembly and safely delivering hardware for projects to expected standards, budget and timescales
2. Engage with Project Manager and project reviews to ensure test schedules are in alignment of project timescales
3. Produce and communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding progress and status of hardware under test
4. Support Design Engineers with testing and debugging both current and new designs
5. Verify spacecraft hardware meets customer requirements
6. Collate, review and write reports for test results with recommended actions
7. Work to company standards relating to Quality Management System along with other quality processes mandated by the customer
Skills required:
8. Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
9. Demonstrates competence in electrical and electronic engineering principles
10. Evidences knowledge of schematic diagrams and PCB layout to debug hardware
11. Ability to apply electrical expertise to product range such as battery packs, power systems, dc-dc converters,
12. Working knowledge of test equipment
13. Experience of following test and evaluation plans
14. Capability and willingness to write effective test and evaluation plans
15. Demonstrates ability to apply test methodology to debug issues
16. Demonstrates understanding of Health and Safety and Quality Management Systems
17. Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
18. Collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams, fostering a shared sense of mission success.
19. Ability to make good decisions under highly demanding, dynamic environment
20. Ability to organise self and prioritise workload with multiple projects in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
21. Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
22. Proficient in English, both verbally and written
Skills desired:
23. Knowledge of coding software (Python/C++ etc)
24. Previous experience in the space industry
25. Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies
