Working for a well-established organisation based in Ipswich.

Your new role

This is a newly created HR Advisor job covering maternity leave, being offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be joining a core HR team of 6 people, reporting to the HR Manager; the purpose of this role is to provide high-quality generalist HR advice, supporting dedicated service/operational areas covering a full range of HR activity. This job will be varied, but it will be biased towards ER, training and supporting as an HR business partner. Duties will include but not limited to:
1. Providing a proactive HR Advisory Service that is in line with legislative requirements and best practice.
2. Providing dedicated service areas advice and support to directors, assistant directors, heads of, team leaders, supervisors and employees in areas.
3. To monitor absence and support managers as and when required, giving advice and making Occupational Health referrals.
4. Assist and support managers in preparation to attend Employment Tribunals as required.
5. To work proactively with trade unions to ensure that constructive and effective employee relations are maintained.
6. To provide HR management information to gain greater insights into the trends. To provide information and statistics to the HR Senior Management Team.
7. To assist in the development, delivery and review of in-house training courses on a range of HR topics including capability, absence disciplinary, grievance and recruitment.
8. Act as deputy to the Employee Relations Manager in their absence and report directly to the Head of HR.
9. To work with the other members of the HR team to understand the wider HR context and to help to shape the overall HR function to meet the changing customer demands.


What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this job, you will require
10. CIPD Level 5/7 qualification.
11. Demonstrable knowledge of operational human resources.
12. Proven experience of providing HR Advice forplex and contentious ER cases/issues.
13. Proven experience of working with Occupational Health providers and monitoring absence levels.
14. Evidence of establishing strong working relationships with a range of people both internally and in other organisations.
15. Evidence of developing and delivering training materials across a range of HR topics.
