A welcoming primary school in Christchurch is seeking a dedicated part-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils aged 5–11 who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic and skilled at building positive relationships to help pupils thrive in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in one-to-one and small group settings
* Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and emotional support
* Helping pupils develop coping strategies and social skills
* Promoting a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
* Collaborating with staff to meet individual pupil needs
About You:
* Experience working with children, preferably in an SEMH or SEN setting (desirable)
* Calm, consistent and compassionate approach to behaviour management
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to apply
