This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly professional and dynamic group currently consisting of other Chambers-rated Partners & Associates, advising and assisting on a wide variety of high quality commercial projects. You can expect to advise on a diverse range of commercial matters related to complex contracts, Fintech, franchising, IP, manufacturing and data protection. You will be involved in drafting and negotiating contracts of various sizes and values and will be encouraged to act as an extension of the firms clients' in-house legal teams. This is a great opportunity for a senior individual to come into a growing area of the business, and work closely with the Head of Team and other Partners. This may suit an individual who is working in a commercial setting and looking to be part of a wider geographical agnostic team, and who can help support and strengthen key skills and expertise in the areas of technology, IP and data protection. 6 years PQE with some previous experience in commercial law Confident working independently on your own matters Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and successfully manage client relationships. The team’s practice covers a broad spread of commercial, data protection, IT and IP work, including all types of commercial contracts, both B2B and B2C; collaboration agreements; e-commerce documents; IP licences; software contracts; advisory work especially regarding GDPR compliance. The ideal individual will be comfortable drafting and negotiating contracts; carrying out legal research and due diligence; guiding clients through commercial challenges; and, developing client relationships. All members of the team advise on IT contracts, as well as dedicating a significant proportion of their time to commercial law advice and data protection/cyber security matters. There is a particular sector focus on tech businesses, insurance/financial services and life sciences. The successful individual can expect to get involved in a fantastic range of work, with an impressive client list that includes well-known brands, multinationals, FTSE 100 corporates as well as owner managed businesses and entrepreneurs. The team (and the wider firm) has a significant focus on international work and much of what they do has a cross border dimension. The ideal individual will be a strong team player with solid inter-personal skills, good academics and high quality experience – typically with a major City or leading national/regional practice – who have a commercial approach and excellent technical, communication and negotiation skills.
