We are seeking a dedicated, competent, qualified and skilled Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) with a relevant, successful track record to join our team. To ensure continued compliance by contract managing our service providers and driving the clients’s strategic approach to oversee fire safety compliance across our corporate and school estate.
Role Overview:
The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead), will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire and will oversee the provision, management and quality assurance of an end-to-end Fire Risk Management service and will be responsible for shaping and overseeing delivery of Fire property compliance and asset management strategies. To ensure properties are safe, well-maintained and in line with all relevant legislative standards. Including but not limited to, the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and Client Fire Policy.
You will be responsible for managing risk assessments, developing the fire safety policy and implementing its content, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams and overseeing planned and reactive maintenance programs to ensure fire safety across a varied estate and maintaining a safe environment for employees, clients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* The role will be a busy and high profile one, so the ability to prioritise and effectively manage your workload are key skills for the role to ensure that all associated client and contractor KPIs and SLAs are met or exceeded.
* Lead and manage fire safety compliance programs across all company sites.
* Conduct a review and maintain a detailed action log for fire risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
* Develop, review, and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards (e.g. Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, and client Fire Policy).
* Liaise with fire authorities, insurers, and external auditors.
* Provide expert advice and training to staff on fire safety practices and emergency procedures.
* Investigate fire-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in fire safety laws and best practices.
* Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and facilities management teams to ensure effective service delivery.
* Chair and facilitate fire related meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all relevant issues are raised, recorded and addressed
* Provide effective leadership in all aspects of Fire compliance management, related to risk and asset management.
* Build strong internal and external working relationships to provide opportunities for knowledge transfer, training and guidance on Fire Safety and compliance best practices.
You should be able to demonstrate:
* Strong knowledge of Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and all other relevant Fire safety regulations.
* Proven experience in fire safety management or compliance roles across multiple sites, ideally within a local authority or educational setting (Minimum 3 years).
* Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk management principles.
* Relevant qualifications in Fire management and compliance such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE certifications, or equivalent.
* Experience working with regulatory bodies and emergency services is a plus.
* Ability to develop and implement risk management strategies.
