Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent experienced Hard Services Manager to join our Renfrewshire and Dumfries & Galloway schools account. This role is on site based. The standard hours of work are 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday 08:00am – 16:00pm).
We’re seeking a hands-on leader with a recognised trade qualification in gas, electrical, plumbing or joinery, and proven experience managing a team of skilled engineers. The successful candidate will oversee 8 direct reports and be responsible for coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive breakdowns using a CAFM system. Strong leadership and technical expertise are essential to drive performance and service delivery.
The successful candidate will supervise the implementation of robust services, ensuring smooth functioning and exceptional standards of service excellence aligned with the requirements of our Renfrewshire and Dumfries & Galloway Schools Account. Your leadership and specialised know-how will uphold essential assets.
Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Scottish Schools Private Finance Initiative across our Complex Facilities portfolio (Europe’s largest educational Private Finance Initiative).
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of Technical Compliance & Hard FM functions.
* Plan and deliver PPM services to meet all contractual requirements.
* Manage and assess performance for 8 direct report staff.
* Manage sub-contractor supply chain.
* Audit and maintain assets, in conjunction with asset & lifecycle management plan.
* Drive innovation to ensure best practice in technical compliance disciplines.
* Ensure remedial activities are conducted in-line with SLA’s where needed and continuous improvement is delivered.
* Manage all services and work closely with the finance team to manage budget targets for Hard Services.
We want to hear from you if you have:
* Extensive knowledge of Hard FM & Technical Compliance Delivery in critical services environment.
* A UK recognised and relevant technical qualification in Building Services or any other hard service disciplines is essential.
* Demonstrable experience of budgeting & managing complex Hard FM projects.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and developing a team.
* Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation implementation, adherence, monitoring, auditing, and investigation.
* Strong individual who can work efficiently under pressure and to consistently achieve deadlines.
