At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Tracheostomy Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position requires a commitment to supporting individuals with their daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. A valid driving licence is preferred, as some roles may involve transporting residents.
This is a meaningful 1:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.
About The Client
Our client is a young girl with a non-traumatic spinal cord injury, who lives at home with her family. They benefit from structured routines, reassurance and support both at home and in the community. A carer who is calm, patient and confident working independently will thrive in this role. A driver is preferred.
Clinical Requirements
You will support the client with the specific clinical tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:
* Tracheostomy trained
* Percutaneous endoscopic jejunostomy (PEJ) feeds
* Full assistance with urinary and bowel management
* Paediatric experience favoured
Shifts Available
We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.
* Night shifts only 22:00 - 08:00
What The Role Involves
* Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
* Supporting with community access and social activities
* Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
* Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
* Communicating effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams
Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting people with complex needs
* Confidence with clinical tasks (or a willingness to train)
* Strong communication and reliability
* Empathy, emotional intelligence and person-centred values
* Ability to work independently and professionally
* Support residents in following their care plans and achieving their individual goals.
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
* Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, ensuring dietary needs are met.
* Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
* Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment by following health and safety protocols.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication effectively.
