Class 2 Multi-Drop Delivery Driver
Location: Darwen
Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 basic, plus £100 monthly bonus for no incidents, an annual discretionary bonus based on group, branch, and individual performance, and a contributory pension scheme.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:15 pm. Occasionally, you may work beyond 4:15 pm, which will be considered overtime. Most days, you will finish at 4:15 pm.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading distributor of thermoplastic sheet, rod, and tubing, servicing the fabrication and signage marketplace. Owned by the global leader in acrylic manufacturing, the distribution team is committed to delivering excellence in customer support. As part of their expansion, they are recruiting a Class 2 Driver for their distribution centre in Darwen. THE ROLE
Multidrop deliveries (around 10 to 15 drops per day), mainly covering the North West, with occasional trips to Scotland (approximately once or twice per month, involving an overnight stay in a sleeper cab).
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Providing an "on time and in good condition" delivery service.
2. Ensuring the vehicle is loaded correctly, safely, and securely without causing damage.
3. Representing the company positively when delivering goods.
4. Reporting faults, accidents, or incidents promptly to the Warehouse & Distribution Manager.
5. Assisting with picking goods for loading and unloading deliveries correctly.
6. Reporting stock discrepancies or damages promptly.
7. Attending regular branch staff meetings.
8. Carrying out daily vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
9. Operating the Tachograph system correctly.
10. Keeping the vehicle clean and well-presented.
11. Following all health and safety procedures within the sales and warehouse environment.
12. Carrying out other duties as requested by the Warehouse & Distribution Manager.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will:
1. Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) licence and CPC qualification.
2. Have experience driving 18-tonne lorries for multi-drop deliveries.
3. Have a minimum of 12 months HGV driving experience.
4. Be willing and able to undertake occasional trips to Scotland with overnight stays (sleeper cab provided).
5. Possess a professional approach, excellent communication skills, strong numeracy skills, and attention to detail.
6. Be energetic, motivated, enthusiastic, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Have a clean driving licence.
