Sales Lead
Remote (UK)
Salary - £45,000 - 50,000 plus commission
♻️ Reath is on a mission to get more people to make better choices, starting with reusing items we typically throw away.
⏺️ We are a software company providing a data-powered reusable packaging tracking platform. Our easy-to-use software helps businesses launch and scale reusable packaging systems that engage customers, improve ESG results, and generate a return on investment.
⏺️ This is a Sales role within Reath, ideally suited to someone who has a genuine passion for packaging and circular systems and has familiarity with the world of consumer packaged goods.
⏺️ We are looking for someone who is excited to be our first Sales hire. Experience of selling a data-driven SaaS solution to CPG customers would be amazing, but is not a prerequisite. Most importantly you’ll be a great communicator, passionate about the problem space, and happy to roll your sleeves up to run the full sales and commercial strategy across the business.
The Problem
The UK generated 221 million tonnes of waste in 2016, and 52.3 million tonnes went to landfill.
At Reath, we’re building a future where nothing gets thrown away. We’re an impact-driven company, focusing on facilitating the reuse of everyday items such as packaging.
Our software is designed to offer businesses a clear route towards their sustainability and net zero targets. Without Reath, businesses are not able to understand nor improve their packaging waste. As they say, “you can’t improve what you don’t measure”.
The Role
As our Sales Lead, you'll be responsible for creating and executing a replicable enterprise sales process, from customer discovery and lead generation, all the way through to closing deals - with a target of closing 1-3 deals in the first 6 months. The day-to-day will involve:
* Identifying target customers who would benefit from implementing a reusable packaging system. These could be enterprise-level consumer packaged goods manufacturers or smaller SMEs.
* Developing relationships with key decision makers within those organisations to build their awareness and understanding of Reath’s platform and how it can benefit them.
* Nurturing leads through the sales cycle to successful close - presenting product demos, overcoming objections and ensuring the platform meets the customers needs.
* Taking feedback from existing customers to inform the sales strategy moving forward.
* Own the go-to-market strategy for new product offerings.
* Represent the organisation at trade shows and events.
As the ideal candidate:
* You are an excellent communicator who is comfortable establishing and growing authentic relationships with target customers both in-person and via email or phone.
* You care about the problem space that we are working in and want to help achieve our mission.
* You love learning and actively engage with industry experts to truly understand the challenges they face and the wider regulatory landscape.
* You are tech savvy, and will work with the whole Reath team to understand the features of our platform, and how it works.
* You are able to work independently but can recognise when you need input and support.
* You are well organised and able to implement an effective sales process.
* You are flexible and happy to take on a broad range of responsibilities in line with the business’ needs.
* You put yourself in our customer’s shoes and enjoy being creative when thinking through their needs and requirements
* You are strategically minded and keen to exploring new avenues to generate business.
The Perks
Location and Hours: Remote with flexible working hours.
This role is remote and will always have the right to be, even if we add some office space to our locations in the future. We trust our employees to be productive, which means we support flexible working. All we ask in return is strong communication with the team and expectation setting. Preference will be given to candidates based in the UK.
Compensation: £45,000 - £50,000 + commission.
We aim to be as transparent as possible about the compensation for each role, based on the level of responsibility, market rate, location, and what the business can afford. We commit to an annual salary review, intending to recognise growth and contribution, rather than rewarding those most comfortable with asking for a raise.
You will also have the opportunity to gain an equity stake in the company (you’re working hard to make the company successful, so we believe you should share in the reward!)
☀️ Holiday: Unlimited with 28 days minimum
We have a flexible holiday policy. We don’t limit the amount of time you have off, and we believe you should be able to take off the time you need when you need it. For permanent roles, we have a minimum of 28 days of holiday to ensure you take that time.
️ Culture:
Our culture is important to us. We dedicate time as a company to build it, reflecting on our values, mission, energy levels, and goals. We haven’t gotten everything right, but we embrace our failures and successes for the learnings they give us.

Why choose us?
As well as offering the opportunity to solve one of the biggest environmental problems in the world, by facilitating system wide change, we also provide the opportunity to:
* Join an award-winning team, which has received 3 Innovate UK grants to develop reuse.id, the first global Open Data Standard for reusable packaging; build the service design for reusable PPE for the NHS; and run a feasibility study on how reuse can reduce electrical waste
* Gain first-hand experience of how to start, grow, market and raise funding for startups, and work closely with our partners such as Elemental Excelerator and Founders Factory, a huge opportunity for personal development and upskilling.
* Make waves, by collaborating with giants like Marks & Spencer, Google, and Unilever. We have already prevented 805,000 units of single-use packaging so far, and we’re only just getting started.
* Help shape our culture of peer learning and contribute to our core values
* Become recognised as one of the leaders in your field through playing a vital role in the future growth of a high-profile startup, which in one year has gone from idea to product-in-market with a corporate client
