Role - SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support
Location - Hackney, London
Pay - £90 – £105 per day
Contract - Full-time role starting September
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Hackney this September. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis, making a real difference to a child's learning and development.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individualised support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to implement strategies that support the pupil’s learning, wellbeing, and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities
Support the implementation of strategies outlined in the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to monitor progressRequirements:
Previous 1:1 SEN support experience in a school or educational setting
Understanding of SEND needs and supporting pupils with additional learning requirements
Experience working with pupils with an EHCP is highly desirable
A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
